There are two main developments in the works set to transform Britannia Beach.
Britannia Beach is on the verge of a significant boom and transformation with its two real estate developments and proximity and scenic commute to Vancouver (45 min. to downtown), Squamish (10 min.) and Whistler (45 min.).
Britannia Beach North
Macdonald Development Corp.
Zoning is currently being updated for a new residential, commercial, and retail development incorporating many refinished historic buildings. The new community will consist of 73 townhomes, walkable and bikeable trails, a community garden, a children’s playground; and a commercial village including a full-service grocer, family restaurant, local cafe, and dedicated rental units for employees.
The village of Britannia Beach will be a point of pride for the community. The mix of amenities will fill the big city needs of locals and visitors while feeling right at home in this special, small-scale setting.
Britannia Beach South
Tiger Bay Developments
The proposed 25-year plan staged in four phases will include 50 affordable housing units, bringing the total of residential units for the area to 1,050.
On the 134 acres, the proposal includes 43 per cent greenspace, 29 per cent commercial, and 28 per cent residential. Minaty Bay would become a public park, providing beach access.
