When Britannia Beach was first created,  Volunteer Fire Department men would run to the fire as they pulled the hose reel behind them. By the early 1960’s, they were using an old International flatbed truck, which helped keep the hose reel in good shape.

Sign up for SLRD Alert – an emergency notification system that allows the SLRD to communicate important information quickly in case of emergencies. The service is free to residents living within any of the SLRD’s four electoral areas (not including those who live in the four member municipalities – Lillooet, Pemberton, Squamish, Whistler).
